In light of the recent EHV outbreak making its way throughout the country, please know that I take my role as a traveling practitioner very seriously. Maintaining the highest standard of responsibility for the overall health of all equines is paramount.
My protocol:
- One set of coveralls or outerwear for each scheduled stop for the day. Once worn, these are removed and placed in a sealed bag before entering my vehicle and are laundered at home for the next day’s use.
- Boots are removed and disinfected with bleach before entering my vehicle, and placed in a bag. Driving shoes do not exit my vehicle.
- Hands are sanitized before exiting vehicle, before touching equipment and horses, between clients if more than one horse per location, and before entering my vehicle.
- Equipment is disinfected between clients if more than one horse per location, and again before packing back into my vehicle.
If your barn has additional procedures in place, please let me know and I am happy to comply.
