Collaborative Bodywork Sessions

I often collaborate with Annemieke Buis of Equine Connection Freelance Training. Her approach to Classical Dressage training is all about balance and harmony in body, mind, and spirit for both horse and rider. It is the perfect complement to Kinetic Wave Therapies, LLC osteopathic perspective on bodywork. The progress we typically achieve in just one session together is profound; for information about collaborative session availability, contact me or Annemieke.

As an example of our work together, GiGi is a 6-year-old Thoroughbred mare who retired from racing at age 3 and went on to an eventing career. After a bout of laminitis, the compensatory patterns developing in her body began hindering her sports performance and her ability to comfortably lie down to sleep or roll. During GiGi’s collaborative session, Annemieke guided her through gentle exercises to enhance her proprioception and balance, while I addressed areas of restriction. Below are before and after photos from the collaborative session.

GiGi – before collaborative session, 8/2/25

GiGi – after collaborative session, 8/2/25: Note improved relaxation through poll, throatlatch, neck, abdomen, and lumbar. She also shows improved ability to distribute weight evenly on all four feet.

In the video below, GiGi shows off her newly found comfort by rolling from side to side, and more easily standing up afterward. Contact me, or Annemieke, to discuss how a collaborative session with us can support your horse!
